Der Begriff "Strategie" kommt ursprünglich aus dem griechischen vom Wort strategos und definiert die Kunst der Heeresführung. Heutzutage zählt dieser Begriff zu den meistverwendetsten Begriffen in Unternehmen. Doch was versteht man mittlerweile eigentlich unter einer guten Strategie?
Die gängige Definition setzt Strategie gleich mit „den Plänen des Top-Managements, jene Ergebnisse zu erreichen, die sich mit der Mission und den Zielen der Organisation decken" (Wright/Pringle/Kroll). Dies ist zumindest die in den Lehrbüchern stets vorherrschende Meinung. Doch natürlich gibt es auch ganz andere Sichtweisen ... ich persönlich habe über die Jahre verschiedenste Strategien in den unterschiedlichsten Branchen und Unternehmen begleitet und umgesetzt. Hierbei ist aufgefallen, dass bei der reinen Planung häufig der eingeschränkte Blickwinkel die Möglichkeiten des Unternehmens beschränkt. In diesem Sinne ist es sinnvoll auch unkonventionelle Ideen zu verfolgen und sprichwörtlich über den Tellerrand hinauszusehen.
